"ASPEN GOLD" UPDATED, IMPROVED

"Aspen Gold"

Sometimes, well, often, if a piece of work hangs in an artist's home long enough they will make changes...Thus is the case with this one.  It bothered me for awhile, but it wasn't until I sat in the hot sun of SAM just staring at it did it come clear to me what needed to be done.  Simple changes, but important ones...I took out the dark in the trees and replaced it with SKY.  HOW SIMPLE...why didn't I see it earlier?  Well, partly because I work so fast...and I had blinders on to what I know simply...and so...the change.  Don't be afraid to do that with existing paintings!  If you've been an artist for very long at all, you already know on some level...you just have to tap in to that inner voice that knows the rules, the composition, the common sense answers...you just have to listen!

SUMMER ART MARKET RESULTS

"SUMMER ASPEN" - SOLD

YES, it was a VERY successful SUMMER ART MARKET all around! I'm happy to report that SO many paintings sold I will be very busy in days, weeks and months to come replinishing my inventory!  I'm happy and a little sad to report some of my favorites have sold...Summer Aspen for one...AND, among them...also happily in other homes...
"Aspen in Orange and Green"

"Aspen on Guanella Pass"

"Spring Color"

And, SO many more...I sold almost all my ETSY shop, most everything that was smallish...WOW...what a great show...HOWEVER...I found myself SO sick from the heat and the subsequent neccessity to take down the tent in full sun that I have great doubts that I can do these outdoor shows in the future...sigh...It has taken me this entire week to get my strength back...me thinks that heat is not my best thing...but, there is a year to decide on that one for sure!

Three that I love have not yet sold, and as I am walking around the house to put things on the wall I put them together and was so pleased at how they look as a group...FUN!

This is "Aspen in Purple and Green", "Purple Oak", and "Lodgepole".  AHHH trees...I love em!

It is now time to do a bit of traveling...off to Texas and Oklahoma in coming days to visit family and do some business...

HAPPY CREATING!

SUMMER ART MARKET DAY ONE

Well, day one of the SUMMER ART MARKET was a great success...I sold a good number of paintings...among them..
"Poppy Bouquet"
"Colorado Visions"
"High Meadow Elk"
"Poppies Galore"
and yes...even
"Aspen" an art pole!!
I could have sold about 5 of those!
and a bunch of mini's...and even MORE...BUT, there is still plenty left, so come on down!!

There were a couple of mishaps...a huge burst of wind came up when I was trying to set up and blew the "Poppy Garden" art pole over and bounced it around hard...the top broke, as soon as the market is over he goes into the hospital for repair...AND...well, I washed my shorts yesterday with money and a check inside...the money came out fine...the check...well, it is in a million little pieces...sigh...such is life...but the good news is, it was not for much...YAY!
and NOW...A few pics of my little Omaha family on their first trip to the ocean with my grandson PAXTON...ever the proud mom and Nana!!
Proud and happy little family!!
!
this boy LOVED the sand
Love this!
Look at that face!! NO FEAR...PURE JOY!!
"Bye for now"
HAPPY CREATING!!

"Poppy Garden" ORIGINAL ART POLE ON PVC SQUARE POLE © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"Poppy Garden"
Painted on PVC 4"x4" 5'+ Fence Pole
$185

What an interesting experience these art poles are...I enjoy them, they are different, but they are quite labor intensive...I'm not sure where they will go, if anywhere, but I'm not giving up just yet!!  They are FUN!

Poppy Garden is bright, and bold and looks good in a corner...I've had it several places, and am only just beginning to explore how it can be used.

Originally I had intended to have the system in place for adapting it to be placed outside in a garden, but I'm still experimenting with sealants and want to test it before I would market them for indoor AND outdoor placement...stay tuned!

The poppies are painted in acrylic, and the leaf stamp you see in the black loosely painted background is a stamp I made, so this is TOTALLY original and unique for sure!

Along with it's brother; "Aspen", "Poppy Garden" will be on display at the Summer Art Market this weekend.  Come see me at booth #38 on 3rd street to see these guys in person!

Along with all the crazy preparations for SAM, we have been playing with plants...I just wanted to share a photo of my newest...a Dahalia...my first one...FUN in the SUN!!
