"FALL WIRE GARLAND" © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"Fall Wire Garland"
6'
available at the Aar River Gallery in Westminster
November 5-January 16, 2016
After the same fashion I created this fall wire garland using my paper casts and some bits of this and that.  Again, this is a one and only...it is a bit labor intensive, but I had fun playing with design after all the paper casting, painting, glittering and such were finished!
In between leaves and pumpkins are bells tied to the wire with raffia.  The tinkle is fun!

"POINSETTIA WIRE GARLAND" © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

Poinsettia wire garland
For sale at the Aar River Gallery
November 5-January 15, 2016
THIS garland is from an idea I've had for a couple of years.  The poinsettia's are actually my paper casts from a mold I made.  This garland is 8' long with poinsettia's, cinnamon sticks, bells and small bits of this and that and some glitter of course.  The concept is you can add it to your table decor, runner, or you can put it on a mantle, even wind it on a tree.  The wire is 18gauge and can be bent a bit for doubling up or to conform to a specific shape.

I have to say that, after completing this, I've discovered this project is incredibly labor intensive to make many of these.  I enjoyed the process, but way too many steps for what I will get for them...SO, this is a one and only for poinsettias.  I've got a couple of fall garlands I'm about finished with, so there are those...I still had fun!

UPCYCLED FURNITURE FOR THE AAR RIVER GALLERY © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"Pine Cone Chair"
Aar River Gallery; Westminster, CO
This is the time of year that I work on all sorts of projects in preparation for Christmas shows.  This year I will have a good number of different items at the Aar River Gallery in Westminster.  The show begins November 5 and goes through the end of December.  If you are in the area I invite you to stop in.  Becky Silver; gallery owner has a wonderful gallery and an art cottage next door where the show will be housed.  FUN!

This is a fun wicker chair that is a great accent piece for any spot!

This star console table is a great accent piece especially due to it's 1' depth; allowing it to sit in an entry way or behind a couch...The mat on top was made from canvas and painted, stitched and accented just for this piece.  The glass knob is an antique door knob.

This is an old magazine table that I found and decided to adorn it with pattern and closed pine cones; more of a stylized piece...a fun little side table for just about any room!

SO, the Galloway studio is busy with all manor of items...stay tuned for more!

VISIT TO NEW BRAUNFELS TEXAS

We recently returned from the Austin area on a scouting trip for a possible move.  In the end we decided we loved New Braunfels and surrounding area...a fun town, a great art community, and my brother and his family are there...so, eventually we will relocate to that area.  These are some fun things we encountered on our trip.
My sweet husband is so patient with me as I try selfies with my regular camera!  Since my arms are so short, he always is front and center!  But I think he's adorable and wonderful!  We are sitting under bat bridge in Austin, waiting for hundreds of thousands of bats to fly out from under the bridge at dusk...it was interesting...but we couldn't see them as well as they looked no matter my photo...check out below.
People line up all the way down the bridge and wait...
This was the best photo I could get...those little black dots..yep, bats...kinda spooky pic; like Halloween!
These birds were EVERYWHERE down there...sure would love to know what they are!
This is beautiful Landa Park in New Braunfels...several lakes come together here.
I loved this park...even though the trees are different, it felt like home!
This dude was eyeing me for quite awhile...he didn't bite, but I think he was hoping for some food!
This was an opening to Black Panther Canyon...it went on for miles...BEAUTIFUL!
The best part of course was family...my beautiful neice, Kaitlinn who guided us through the canyon.
I adore my brother...and of course my wonderful husband too!
My sister in law, Lori and I cried when I left without a house purchase!  We have always been able to laugh like kids when we were together...we SO look forward to having a life of lots of laughing very soon!

I am working on some fun Christmas Crafts for a two month show at the AAR RIVER GALLERY in Westminster...so it is a busy time in my studio!  STAY TUNED!
