"Dragonfly in Repose"
7"x5" oil on textured panel
On hold for Jan/Feb show in Littleton, CO
I have fallen in love with dragonflies! I think it happened when I began painting them at the request of my Conifer gallery owner; Luna's Mandala. This one is completely different than the others...but still quite fun to paint! I love how there are lost and found areas in the wings...and the colors of the body are fun! I work hard not to make it look scary like a real close up dragonfly can look...just sort of dreamy and soft, but with good color.
I'm painting some smallish paintings for a show I will be in at the Stanton Gallery in Littleton, Co in January and February...this will be one of them. I'm working on a fun frame to put her in...stay tuned for that!
HAPPY CREATING!

Awesome job on the transparency of the wings and as much as I love the blue/green dragonfly bodies, this yellow/red combo works gorgeously with the background!
Thank you Crimson Leaves, it was fun to play with!
