"S' UP" an OSTRICH FOR MY ETSY SHOP © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"S' Up" an Ostrich
4"x4" oil on textured panel
$30

When I see this face, I see the phrase "S' Up"...doesn't this ostrich just look like that is what is being said! A funny look at a funny bird that has a million faces; all funny! "S' Up" is for the person with a sense of humor! "S' Up" is painted in oil on a slightly textured panel. You can frame this ostrich as is in your favorite 4"x4" frame (keep in mind 1/2" is taken on all sides when framing), or for just .50 more I can mount this funny bird on a 5"x5" off white or black backer board so you can frame in your favorite 5"x5" frame with all sides showing! The examples are shown with each color; though the frames are not included. You can find the off white frame on ETSY at Rustic and Refined Design, or the black frame at Michaels in their photo frame section.

I've been exploring frame options for some of my panel paintings.  I came up with this frame for my "Yellow and White Daisies" that will be hanging in the Stanton Gallery Littleton show coming up January 6, 2015! This one has a couple types of molding...and paper...FUN!
Another frame I came up with for my daughter's Christmas painting to go in baby girl's room I hear...I've made one like it for my newest ostrich painting posting soon!!

HARREINGTON B III" A BUNNY OF SOME MEANS © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"Harreington B III"
6x4" oil on textured panel
comes FRAMED
$75

"Harreington B III" is a bunny that came from fame and fortune. He's trying his best to find his way with all that B the III tagging along behind, and I think he is making a fine figure of a bunny! Harreington comes with his own very stately but fun frame; with a distressed off white finish. A perfect pair I'd say. He can hang or sit on a table!
 finished frame size : 10 1/4" x 8 1/4"

Christmas found us with my most wonderful son who has recently transplanted from San Diego.  I think the cold of Colorado and the lack of ocean is a bit much, so I see him returning as soon as humanly possible!  But, for now it is good to have his face near by; even if for a season!

"GOOSE NECK" ORIGINAL OIL ON TEXTURED PANEL © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"Goose Neck"
6"x4" oil on textured panel
ON HOLD for Stanton Art Gallery

Another painting for my show in Jan at the Stanton Gallery in Littleton, Co.  I think I've learned a lesson for the future.  Although I am happy to be in a show, doing artwork right before Christmas that I don't put in my own ETSY shop is a little frustrating! However I'm sure it will all work out in the end...what does not sell will go in the shop right after the show is over in February.  Lessons are awesome!  That's how we end up with a life that we want!

I, however, have done a couple more ostrich paintings...one for sure in my ETSY shop!  Stay tuned!

Just a little formal"ish" floral arrangement.  This was a request of sorts...I will be framing it in the next week or so...stay tuned!

It has been a bit crazy in the ole Galloway household the past couple of months.  I remain dedicated to working constantly, but it is spread out among my gallery in Conifer, my ETSY shop, and the show coming up on January at the Stanton Gallery in old town Littleton, CO.  Oh, and gifts for family and friends.  I'm sure we will all pull through these busy holiday commitments...until then...

"I SEE YOU" AN OSTRICH WITH ATTITUDE © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"I See You" an Ostrich with Attitude
4x4" on a 1/2" thick textured panel
comes with her own easel
AVAILABLE AT LUNA'S MANDALA
I've been working really hard of late, trying to get work finished for my gallery in Conifer; Luna's Mandala, as well as ETSY (I think this poor shop has suffered most), and the art show I'm in at the Stanton Gallery in Littleton, Co starting Jan. 6.  It's been a juggling act for sure I admit!  "I See You" is an ostrich I painted exclusively for my gallery in Conifer...but I've also painted one for ETSY...see it tomorrow!  I DO LOVE painting these quirky birds...they all make me laugh!

I've also been trying to decorate for Christmas around here...I got our little Charlie Brown tree, as my husband calls it...all decked out...and of course I always put my ornaments of my kiddos on the tree!
So, pause for a bit of Christmas cheer!!
HO HO HO!!
I finished framing one of my 5x5" paintings..."Raven Pose"...I DO enjoy making these frames.  This one can also be found at Luna's Mandala.

"CHRISTMAS CANVAS BASKETS" © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

Canvas Santa bags and Christmas bitties for Luna's Mandala!
It was fun to play with my canvas and make some Christmas gift baskets for my gallery in Conifer; Luna's Mandala.  They go fast, so if you want to snag one for your holiday gift giving, come on up!  She's open every day in December!

This year we decided to thin out our little pines that grow in great large bunches...so our Christmas Tree is one of those.  It was fun to just stroll down our driveway and pick out a tree.  Our sweet little tree is about 5' tall, so I decided to make a canvas basket for it and put it on our chest across from our front door.  Decorating comes next!  FUN DOINS!
I made a stamp for this one...and then added a bit of color here and there...

"DRAGONFLY IN REPOSE" ORIGINAL OIL ON 7"X5" TEXTURED PANEL © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"Dragonfly in Repose"
7"x5" oil on textured panel
On hold for Jan/Feb show in Littleton, CO
I have fallen in love with dragonflies!  I think it happened when I began painting them at the request of my Conifer gallery owner; Luna's Mandala.  This one is completely different than the others...but still quite fun to paint!  I love how there are lost and found areas in the wings...and the colors of the body are fun!  I work hard not to make it look scary like a real close up dragonfly can look...just sort of dreamy and soft, but with good color.
I'm painting some smallish paintings for a show I will be in at the Stanton Gallery in Littleton, Co in January and February...this will be one of them.  I'm working on a fun frame to put her in...stay tuned for that!

"CHERRY DUO" ORIGINAL OIL ON TEXTURED PANEL © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"Cherry Duo"
5x7" oil on textured panel
On hold for show
This little formal duo is painted from a photo I took a few months ago, when cherries were in season.  The candle holder is on it's side behind.  I liked the design of it sitting behind our very bright cherries.  This painting will be just one I have planned to hang at a show I'm in at the Stanton Gallery in Littleton in Jan/Feb.  I will be framing this piece in a fun way...stay tuned!

"BLUE ROCK CLIFFS" ORIGINAL OIL ON 4X4" TEXTURED PANEL © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

"Blue Rock Cliffs"
4"x4" oil on textured panel
$30

This abstracted landscape is purely from my heart. I have yet to actually see this in life, though I would never discount that it exists. "Blue Rock Cliffs" is inspired by my many walks up in the Colorado mountains where I see boulder fields and cliffs. For the adventurous soul that dreams of colors and trees in colors that sing. You can purchase this painting as is and set it on a small easel, or you can frame it in your favorite 4x4" frame (keep in mind that 1/2" is taken on the sides when framing), for .50 more I can mount it on either a black or off white 5x5" backer board so you can frame it in a 5x5" frame. NOTE: I carry some recycled frames in my ETSY shop, so take a look.

Frame suggestions...

I continue to create my fun canvas baskets.  Aspen Roots was actually a gift for my hairdresser and friend who recently had her 1 year anniversary as owner of, ASPEN ROOTS in Conifer!
I've added larger sizes to my canvas baskets as well..."Paisley" is approximately 13" wide by 10 1/2" tall. This can be found at my gallery in Conifer; Luna's Mandala.
a good size for holding a couple of blankets...FUN!

MY PERSONAL MANDALA © SAUNDRA LANE GALLOWAY

The meaning of mandala comes from Sanskrit meaning "circle." Even though it may be dominated by squares or triangles, a mandala has a concentric structure. Mandalas offer balancing visual elements, symbolizing unity and harmony. The meanings of individual mandalas is usually different and unique to each mandala. Many use a mandala as a form of meditation.

Recently I became interested in the mandala as a way to express my individual interests and needs at the moment.  I seem to be in need of peace and strength, so this particular mandala is geared to that.

I am developing a class on creating your own mandala that I will teach here locally.  As an artist, the first step in creating a new class is to create myself, and that is what I have done!  For ME the experience of creating this painting was the goal that led to my peaceful experience.  What many call meditation, I call prayer, but the act of creating this piece helped me to focus on what things give me the peace I seek now in my life.

As you will notice, within the circle is my strongest motivator which is Christ.  Being a christian, Jesus offers me the strength and peace I seek in my life.  Keeping my eyes focused on Him is the cornerstone of my life.  My artistic talent is a gift from God, and it is in the process of creating things that mean something to me that gives me daily joy and peace through my creation process.  I love to gaze at clouds; to see pictures within them, and as many of you know, trees are a special love of mine.  The colors blue and green are also a peaceful experience for me...the sky, the earth...I love them both.  So, in a simple sense, this is my visual of what brings me peace and strength.

So, a class is forming so others can create their own specific mandalas for their own personal end result.  I love the creative process, so this should be FUN!

I've recently come back from visiting my special little family that I love so much in Nebraska.  My beautiful daughter; who is about 5 months along...well, nearly 6...with a precious little girl.  My wonderful son in law is always so gracious to allow me to come and be with them, and of course, my adorable little 3 year old Paxton!  It was a great time to be with them and my extended family and co grandparents.  My co grandma and friend Diana and I painted stripes on the kids rooms

...it was FUN!  I miss them already, but will be out there again when my little granddaughter arrives!  My camera didn't cooperate with me very well this time...so not many photos, but a couple that warmed my heart!

as always...HAPPY CREATING!
