EXPERIMENTS

After spending 9 days in southern Texas with my brother and his family I'm getting back into the swing of things...SLOWLY!  Above is an experiment using pan pastels on matt board, with a little modeling paste thrown in for good measure.  My niece, Kaitlinn is a wonderful artist in her own right, so we played with my sister in law Lori for a day...I absolutely LOVE how the pastels go on...and I loved the effect, however I'm not sure how much I would incorporate them in my own work, so I left them with my niece so she could explore.  I used some modeling paste and a stencil to apply the koi fish and then applied pastel over it...I highly encourage you to play with this medium if you lean that way...It was FUN!!

I've been playing with hanging some of the paintings I have...It's a good idea to show your collectors just how a painting may look hanging in their own home...give it a try!!

I have to share a bit of my beautiful family...we had a blast together!!
My sis in law Lori with their beautiful and talented daughter, Kaitlinn
my handsome, and MOST wonderful brother Jack

and, of course I had to sneak in there somewhere!!

Where ever I go I look to find inspiration...We happened upon a big lily pad pond one day...I found the blooms just gorgeous!!

I watched this bird for a few minutes one day and just took one pic after another...the shapes are WONDERFUL!!

And on I go...still recovering, but always thinking about my next creative venture!!!

HAPPY CREATING!

Lovely photos! I especially love the gold fish piece.
What kind of bird is that?

Bonjour chère amie,

Un très joli billet... De magnifiques photos.
Comme en ce moment je ne suis pas très présente sur les blogs, je me suis réjouie de pouvoir faire un petit retour en arrière et admirer l'ensemble de vos oeuvres.
Bravo l'artiste !

Gros bisous

I do love the shapes in the bird photos too, Saundra. Great capture and a wonderful photo in and of itself (themselves?). I always love seeing family photos so I do thank you for sharing. I recently experimented with modeling paste a bit myself and I like playing with it!

Thanks for stopping by Artista Oscura...It has long legs, I asked a lady at the airport and she told me, but I've forgotten. I don't see them in my part of the country.

Merci mon ami, heureux vous pourrait s'arrêter par !

Thank you Crimson Leaves...I'm thinking I may have to make stencils or stamps of them...so much fun!!
