I feel kind of bad that I am judging this beautiful little "beeper" as my husband calls them (the noise they make). The markings on it's little face make it look MAD; which is what amused me so much the other morning when I was sitting at my kitchen table looking at him sitting on a feeder outside my window. He looked like he was saying to me "What do you think you are looking at?!" It made me laugh, but I appreciated him sitting still long enough for me to get his photo. I took several; one side view that I think I need to paint to be fair! So, I had to name this one "NOT a Morning Bird" (8x8 acrylic canvas on board). I hope this makes you smile as you see his serious little face!
I am almost finished spicing up my tree "breakthrough" from yesterday...it is sometimes hard work NOT doing much more! But I'm on it...

No question. This is the painting of the month, the year! What a fabulous face. An incredibly alive and special painting.
Liz, So glad you enjoyed him! I saw him again this morning. I think his profile is cute too...will have to paint it soon.

Great painting, Saundra! I like the placement of elements...good composition.
Arti, I agree...He was so patient with me sitting there so long!
Dean, I appreciate the comments...I have to say the bird had a lot to do with my composition! To agree with Arti...a real model!
