What I've been up to
I SO admire all of you that have been able to keep up your daily painting schedule! I am failing miserably at that. This year has been horrible economically for us so I have been trying to make presents for those I love. I absolutely love doing it, but it leaves me with little to no time for my painting...save those I did for family!
These Santa's are part of my activities. I made them last year for a craft show and have remodeled several. They are fun to do, but as with everything they take time. I'm also compiling an album for my son who has had to miss so much of family as he works two jobs and only sleeps about 4 hours a day. It is fun, but a little sad compiling all of these memories that he has had to miss. I want him to stay close to us somehow. Yep, I miss him!! His TV interview is tomorrow morning. I am so excited for him and at the same time I am just so frustrated I will miss it! I wish I were out in San Diego so I could tape the interview. I don't know anyone out there who has that capability, so I will try to grab it another way.
Next on the list is a present for my daughter and her husband. I can't say what it is as she reads this...:) But, the point is the days are full of fun things, but little painting! I hope you all are finding ways to enjoy this very busy season! You are my blogger family and I think of you all every day!! Sorry I'm so spotty these days!! Not that I am all that important but I do take my resolve to paint very seriously...I've said it before...here it comes again...aaahhh life!

You may not be painting but you keep us going through your blog! Thank you! Molly is great by the way.
Thanks Liz...and thanks Liz!! :) I'd hug you if you were here!! Oh, I would rather be THERE...aren't you having summer?? :)
Well I sure think you are important, Saundra. Your faith and your loving spirit are so missed when you don't post, no matter what you are doing. As for your painting, I am always trying to figure out some scheme to get you, my headboard, and my footboard to meet up. I so loved what you did with your tv cabinet that I really want something similar on both my headboard and my footboard of my bed. It will help it not seem so repetitive with the two dressers to have it stand apart with your work. Sigh...Wish I was rich! I'd commission you to come out and stay in a hotel and whatever! I daren't attempt it myself as I know I'd ruin it. Anyway, I do so love the Santa posts you've done and know that each of the gifts you make this year will be beautiful and perfect!
Thank you Autumn Leaves! You are SO sweet! I wish I were closer...we'd already be friends, and I'd come over and SHOW you how to do your bed...we'd do it together!! The teacher in me is just dying to do something like that!!
I know what you mean - life sometimes get in front of the easel and blocks our way. Christmas is always a busy time and I feel frustrated when I have to do the shopping, wrapping, mailing, etc. It just goes on and on. I'd rather be in the studio!
Thanks for your determined and happy spirit, Saundra! You contribute so much to the online community and your family life. You inspire me.
I agree with you Carol! WHEW...all those songs that say this is the hap happiest time of the year must be those who don't have to do all of the prep! HA...Though I still get a kick out of this time of year...
Elizabeth, It's funny cuz I feel the same about you! I often wish I could move to your part of the country...Liberty Station sounds right up my alley!!
