"Mountain Meadow"
Mixed Media on Cradled Panel
A friend of mine allowed me to use her mountain photo of this beautiful mountain meadow. The original photo had a pathway and a big rock in the foreground, but I decided to add the deer visitor I had recently on my back deck...Most of it is painted in acrylic, with my papers added in...but the deer is painted in oil. This one is off to my gallery in Louisville next week...I haven't stained the sides yet, so it isn't even in my website yet.
I've been really busy working on several paintings at once for several galleries...poppies are on my easel now. Stay tuned!!
I had the owners who commissioned me to paint their Cairn puppies in my studio recently. I asked them to give me a few pointers as they know their babies well...they were reluctant at first, but when I explained it would be of benefit the husband suggested that the front pup; Forrest was "beefier"...so, while they were here I painted him beefier...and they were thrilled. It is a GOOD THING to interact with your collectors when you can...it makes the whole experience a little more personal...here is the final version of "Darby and Forrest"
I'm always, ALWAYS on the lookout for photo moments...This time it was a little visitor to my yard and my geraniums and zinnias...ENJOY!
HAPPY CREATING!

Mountain Meadow has to be one of my favorite landscapes. It really is gorgeous and encompasses all of my reasons for wanting to live in the mountains some day.
It was fun to paint CrimsonLeaves! I love being here...I think everything has it's unique challenges!
