The Klatch,  framed 

I LOVE to haunt thrift stores and estate sales to find fun things; among them frames that I can use for a painting.  This is a found frame that I took apart and used to frame "The Klatch" an Ostrich Gathering.  This trio is painted on rice paper with a bit of paper streamed throughout.  It is hard to see, but there is a bit of gold detail added to these gals to tie it all together.  This is a small piece, framed under glass...Just a little fun in gold for an upcoming miniature show at the AAR RIVER GALLERY in Westminster...IF they get in that is! Wish me luck!

I am really missing my little Nebraska family...so much growing up!  My sweetheart grandson Paxton; now 4 is actually starting pre-school already!  My how time flies!

Before Lottie A and B head off to their new owner I had a funny experience.  I can't imagine it NOT happening when I paint two exact poses!  One in the couple liked A better, and the other liked B better...that is EXPECTED, and no biggie because one is being given as a gift...HOWEVER the comment about Lottie B drove my OCD ness crazy! HA.  She mentioned that the smile didn't seem quite as happe in B...NOW, she was quite happy with them, but I had to put them side by side and work on LOTTIE B's smile...I think I made it a bit happier!   See for yourself...

 

SO, now we have the two pups waiting to ship to their new owner...

a personal favorite!

 I almost named this pretty girl "Chicken Neck"...it made me laugh, but she is just too pretty; all bathed in sunshine...so she became "Pearly"...just stretching her neck up to show us all how glorious she really is! Can't you just see a strand of pearls gracing that beautiful neck! That's for when she goes out at night of course. "Pearly" is a 6"x4" oil on slightly textured panel. "Pearly" comes framed in this one of a kind wood frame, ready to hang, made by yours truly. 

 The finished size of the frame is 11" x 9".

"S' Up" an Ostrich

 When I see this face, I see the phrase "S' Up"...doesn't this ostrich just look like that is what is being said! A funny look at a funny bird that has a million faces; all funny! "S' Up" is for the person with a sense of humor! "S' Up" is painted in oil on a slightly textured panel. You can frame this ostrich as is in your favorite 4"x4" frame (keep in mind 1/2" is taken on all sides when framing), or for just .50 more I can mount this funny bird on a 5"x5" off white or black backer board so you can frame in your favorite 5"x5" frame with all sides showing! The examples are shown with each color; though the frames are not included. You can find the off white frame on ETSY at Rustic and Refined Design, or the black frame at Michaels in their photo frame section.

I've been exploring frame options for some of my panel paintings.  I came up with this frame for my "Yellow and White Daisies" that will be hanging in the Stanton Gallery Littleton show coming up January 6, 2015! This one has a couple types of molding...and paper...FUN!

Another frame I came up with for my daughter's Christmas painting to go in baby girl's room I hear...I've made one like it for my newest ostrich painting posting soon!!

Flossy is yet another in my series of Ostrich paintings.  I just get such a kick out of painting them...ugly as they are, they make me laugh!  This is another for my upcoming show at the Stanton Gallery in Littleton, CO in Jan/Feb.  FUN DOINS!
