"Bear" is another of the visitors we have up here in the foothills above Denver every year.  I painted him in the fauvist style I have come to love...COLOR!  Love it!

I enjoy mixing different frames with some molding from time to time to highlight my paintings...this one was especially FUN!

You can see in the side view how the frames work together...

This I am using as a small work that will most likely turn into a larger work.  I've got a 15"x15" cradle that just screams BEAR larger to me!  Stay tuned!

Obee O - an Ostrich. Doesn't he just look like he has all the knowledge of the universe!! A strong and healthy fellow for sure, just waiting to grace you with all his wisdom if you'll just take a chance on him! Obee O is painted in oil on a 4"x4" panel. He can sit on a small easel like is shown in the display example (easel not included, but you can find them at Hobby Lobby and Michaels), OR you can frame him in your favorite 4x4 frame (keep in mind framing takes 1/2" on all sides, OR you can pick your favorite matt board color, cut in 5"x5" and then frame him in your favorite 5"x5" frame with all his sides showing.

This girl is just in a mood for sure...aren't we all at times?  What a great gift for yourself or a friend who needs to laugh at those moody days we have!  

Well, winter has come in and reminded us of the work involved when it snows! Poor hubby is out with the snowblower...and after the LONG driveway we have three decks.  This is the price for living up here in the mountains...when we were younger it was no biggie, but as time goes on...all that shoveling gets to a person!

I really enjoyed painting this ostrich duo!  I always have fun painting ostrich's, but there are two this time, so twice the fun!  

It would be as simple as putting these girls on a small easel, or you could mount them on your favorite matte board color in 5"x5" and frame them in a 5x5 frame so all their sides show! FUN AGAIN!

Lady O is my latest Ostrich sweetie.  I find her quite ladylike and charming!

displaying her could be as easy as a small easel!

Recently we purchased a TV for our bedroom that was smaller than the last one, so I began to search for a something that could serve as a stand to bring the TV higher in our cabinet...I found this awful dark box with a drawer and a hideous pull.  I WISH I'd remembered to take a photo of the before, but here is the after...I rather enjoy it's simplicity...and it serves it's purpose quite nicely!

"P Ditty - a Pig"

 "P Ditty" is a pig of a purple nature who is just hanging out waiting to grace the home of a true pig lover! Whether he makes you laugh or feel important he just wants to hang out! Ditty is painted in oil over a slightly textured 4"x4" panel. You can purchase him as he is and either put him on a small frame like the two examples shown (not included), or you can frame him in your favorite 4"x4" frame (remember about 1/2" is taken on all sides when framing), OR for just .50 more I can mount him on an off white 5"x5" matt and you can frame him in your favorite 5"x5" frame so that all his sides will show! (frame shown is not included) The frame shown can be found at Rustic and Refined Design on ETSY. P Ditty will be ready to ship on August 14, 2015 when he is dry! 

I've also been planning another painting.  One thing I knew is I wanted to incorporate some of my paper casts in this painting.  I love making paper casts, and am finding out that there are a myriad of ways to make a cast...check these out! 

 You can see here that I have used brass tubing and sculpy clay to make these molds

 The life spiral is what I wanted to put in my next painting...I used a couple of methods for this mold, but both came out fine...FUN DOINS!

To get this (slightly out of focus) tree of life I pressed a jewelry finding into sculpey and baked it, then used it as a mold!  

The next step will be to seal them in some way...spray sealer or gesso, then apply color in some fashion...this can be ink, paint...use your imagination.  Then, apply!  Remember they are just paper, so use care when applying them to a collage surface.  If you seal both sides they are a little more sturdy.

SO, I've been organizing my life somewhat in preparation for us planning to move when the time is right...THIS organization was really about stuff that gets laid on table tops and messed up...like my daily jewelry...SO, I found this at one of my haunts, repainted it, added photos of flowers my hubby has given me, a few extra knobs and voila` a place for stuff! YAY!

I put it on a wall with some other artwork and photo in the room where I dress...it works perfectly!

JUST SOLD..a Vintage Pooh Bear 2 that was actually requested and I happened to have the time...It's busy days here in the studio!

I don't know why it is that an ostrich face makes one laugh, and our girl, Ottitude doesn't disappoint!

 A friend of mine had these rock tiles and asked me one day if I could figure out what to do with them I could have them...HA...what an awesome challenge for an artist!!  SO, I added these charms to them...and sometimes wire and VOILA...paper weights...probably magnets too...I'll be putting them in my gallery in Conifer; Luna's Mandala!  FUN DOINS!

A wonderful ode to pink and all it's qualities. This happy little painting is a burst of color and composition for that spot that needs a little punch! "Fade to Pink" is painted in oil on a slightly textured 4"x4" panel. The 1/2" depth allows this painting to sit on its own or on a small easel. The easel I chose for this painting is natural in color, but if you want it stained brown please mention that in your notes when you order. Slots on back will also allow for hanging! This has been fun, playing with abstract...it is a great way to feed my creative soul.  Doing these actually helps me in my mixed media work!  I'd highly suggest you try to dabble...it will inspire!!...but now I'm hungry for more of my fun animals...
