"Raven View 2"

This was painted as a request, but is always available until it is sold!  I think the person requesting him may have found another "ravinish" object for her friend, but one never knows...so for the time being, he is available!  She loved the ETSY "Raven View" that can be found HERE, but wanted a paper stream that is kind of my signature.

A bit larger version of my ETSY "Raven View", this 5" x 5" oil and paper on 1.5" gallery wrap canvas is a Raven with a message..."I see You".  They are very intense birds, full of personality and superstition; which is not what you would think.  Ravens are symbolized as intelligent, wise and knowledgeable creatures!  "Raven View 2" is painted on all sides and ready to ship on April 24, 2014 when he is totally dry!  His unique depth allows for him to hang or sit on a shelf!

"White Elephant Necklace"

Hard to see, but the elephant has some brownish accents in the cracks and crevices.

Another in my JUST FOR FUN series, this glass white elephant is graced with other glass beads and metal chain. 16" in length with the apx. 3/4" elephant pendant hanging down. A little turquoise glass bead at the back makes it stylish and FUN from front to back! 

The end of this month is my wonderful mother's 75th BD, and she made a request of me...well, actually a couple...One was another horse like the "Soul of the Horse" WHICH I did, and the other was a mostly turquoise necklace like my JUST FOR FUN series...and, I did that too...Hopefully she will like it...but, SHHHHH...it's a secret! :)

I added a special little bit of personalization...note the JOY bead that will hang down the back...that's her name! :)

 

I have been VERY busy painting of late as well...REALLY enjoying my mixed media pieces between the ETSY'S...Here is a beginning that will end up a section of pine tree...FUN!

 I've got a couple fun things that will happen at one time or another; WHEN the inspiration hits...The barn is a co-worker of my husbands father's barn I believe that is how it goes...I love the contrast of the red with the snow!! I believe this is somewhere in Michigan...

 

and, I thought this little bird; that I've learned may be a JUNCO was outside my door last snow we had...I love his little self!

This sweet little bell hangs at the bottom of silver, red and pearlesque beads. It's 16" length makes it a perfect length for just about any neckline! The little bell is apx. 1/2" tall. I don't know about you, but I always have a little bit of a painting slow down after the crazy pace of the holidays, HOWEVER, I do NOT like to just sit, so while my brain is working it's creative magic (hopefully), I like to play in other mediums...Lately I've been playing at my jewelry making.  I don't claim to be a master at it...I just like to have fun; thus the name of this line is "Just For Fun"!

I find it relaxing to make fun jewelry from time to time.  My space at a Borgata is the perfect venue to let them live until someone loves them home!  This fun leaf necklace is a first.  

I don't prescribe to use sterling silver or authentic crystals...this is just a fun bit of bling to wear for just the right outfit!

You can see that I've added a heart toggle for the back and have added a bit of this and that for that classy look! FUN DOINS!

Getting ready for a workshop

This necklace is one piece I've made to get ready for a demonstration before my first Hobby Lobby workshop.  I find jewelry making a relaxing activity...one where my mind can be free to think about things like composition and what I want to paint next and all sorts of creative ventures!  My demo is Saturday with the first class/workshop being the next Saturday. 

It has been snowing steady here for the last few days...and it is C O L D!  I feel a bit trapped in the house when it is this kind of snow as I feel just too cold to go out!  But, today the sun rose... and life begins again!!  I wish I could really show what the snow looks like...You know that fake snow you can buy at the store??  Yep, it looks like that...but my pics just don't show it...But I was smiling at this pic of the two pines covered in it...reminded me of when we get our hair colored...only this is the white that we usually start with before we cover it up! HA

So, off I go to make some paper and canvas beads and hopefully venture out to get a Starbucks!  Here's hoping you all are a bit warmer than we are here in "sunny" Colorado!  We are at a balmy 4 degrees! Whew!
