Summer memories

It's been cold here the past few days. Sunflowers and Lilacs were a nice way to climb back into those memories of warm days and strong colors. I don't know how I feel about this one. It is another combination of acrylic and paper. My intent was to bring a focus through texture as I put papers in the center of the flower on the left, but it leaves me wanting more. I don't think this photo shows the detail as I would have liked. My new camera came in and I am deep in the book trying to set it up. Hopefully I will be able to bring better detail to my photos when it is ready to use. I do like the strength of color in this one, and I feel the composition works fairly well, however I look at it and try to figure out what else it needs. Perhaps it is just one of those that make one remember the warmth of the sun and smile for a moment in that memory...

The sunflowers certainly do give one a nice warm feeling on these chilly days. Good luck with the new camera.
