"Orange Crush"
6x6" 1 1/2" gallery wrap canvas
Wax Collage
I finished the second in my heart series of wax collage pieces yesterday...between moments of watching the Superbowl of course! I'm calling this Orange Crush. As the other one it is done on a 6x6" 1 1/2" gallery wrap canvas. I like the gallery wraps for these wax collages as they are painted all around, and the wax works well. It seems very "Cloth Paper Scissor(y)"...FUN! The embellishments include buttons from my grandmother's button box (that's my way of saying vintage...but they really ARE from her box) :) I've put this in my ETSY shop as well as let it sit in my EYE CANDY section of my website. I really enjoy these simple but several stepped pieces as they let my imagination take over. I painted then stamped then journaled and then painted some more before I added the paper cast heart and buttons...I think I'm dreaming up something with my paper cast aspens for later on...but I have more hearts in me! Leaf Paper Casts with texture
As I said I spent a good portion of the weekend setting up, shopping for screen and making paper casts for eventual addition to my ETSY shop. First frustration was my supplier in town STOPPED selling what I needed, so I had to order...aaarrrggghhh!! Not to be totally deterred I made casts anyway using screen (the other material that gives such a smooth surface I had to order). I came up with several good casts...but they have a texture on them that I don't want to sell...so they will end up for my personal use and WHEN the materials I ordered come in...I will make the casts and offer them on ETSY! PROMISE! I've had several inquiries so I wanted to make sure you knew they were coming soon!
HAPPY CREATING EVERYONE!!

Boy, Saundra! You have so much get up and go! This piece has so much energy!! I love how the heart calms it down a bit too. I am reminded of candy corn! It looks awesome wrapped around the sides of the canvas.
