"Camelback Mountain"

I am still slipping in mountain summits for my project of the same name.  The name "Camelback Mountain" is  derived from its shape, which resembles the hump and head of a kneeling camel. You can find this mountain in Phoenix, AZ.  I like to add a frame suggestion for these fun paintings, and my favorite is a floater frame because it shows all the edges.  I get my floater frames on line from a company called pictureframes.com.  They offer a good selection of floater frames.

"Mt. Sneffels"

It was time to pull out another summit request for my mountain summit project.  Next in line are a few from Arizona that were suggested.  I enjoy capturing these summits; though they are the tippy top they all seem to have their own personality.  

"Mt. Sneffels" is a mountain in the San Juan Range near the town of Ouray in southwest Colorado.  This mountain summit rises to just over 14,150 ft., so is one of Colorado's 14ers as we call them.  Mt. Sneffels is named after the iconic peak in the Jules Verne’s novel, Journey to the Center of the Earth.  When painting this summit I take care to get the silhouette correct and then add a bit of texture to bring out some of the crags. "Mt. Sneffels" comes ready to frame or can sit on a small easel or just leaned against something on your favorite shelf.  The frame suggestion that is my favorite for my 6"x6" paintings is the floater frame.  (Frame not included).  I get my floater frames from pictureframes.com in the floater frame section. I like these frames as you can see the painting from edge to edge.

"Grand Tetons"

"Grand Tetons" are a range of mountains found in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.  This range consists of a few mountain peaks, but as this is a summit project I zoomed in on the two most prominent peaks. The highest peak/summit is Grand Teton which rises to about 13,770 feet.  To the left is Middle Teton, rising to 12,804 feet. The space between these two is called the lower saddle and off to the right you can see a bit of Mount Owen at 12,928 feet.  "Grand Tetons" is oil on 6"x6" panel and comes ready to frame (the suggestion frame you see here is not included, but shows you how fun they look framed.  This is a floater frame you can find at pictureframes.com) or sit on an easel.

"Grand Tetons" was actually the summit that my friend Jackie Johnson requested to see for my mountain summits project...HOWEVER, life has been so busy, I latched on to a different peak when I was doing my research and just painted it instead, NOT EVEN NOTICING it wasn't the Tetons like we know them!  WOW!  I decided to add it to the collection anyway because it was named after an artist and I kind of was attracted to it in the first place, so HERE is "Mt. Moran"

"Mt. Moran" is a mountain in Grand Teton National Park of western Wyoming that rises some 12,605 feet.  This mountain was named for Thomas Moran, an American western frontier landscape artist.  Mount Moran dominates the northern section of the Teton Range rising 6,000 feet above Jackson Lake."Mt. Moran" is painted in oil on panel and comes ready to frame as shown in a frame suggestion (a floater frame I get from pictureframes.com) or can sit on a shelf or easel.

This is my first "requested " favorite peak/summit from my followers on facebook.  Anyone who wants to send a request to see their favorite peak/summit anywhere in the world is most welcome to do so.  You are not under any obligation to purchase it, I just want to amass a collection!  Of course IF you love it, I won't be sad, but that is not my main motivation!  Here I've shown the example I think would make for a great frame.  I just love these floater frames where you can see it all the way to the edge! 

I have been working HARD to simplify my on line presence...My website address is now saundralane.com.  I'm SaundraLaneOnEtsy in my ETSY shop...speaking of my ETSY shop...I've also made some big changes there as well.  This has needed to be done for a long time...I've taken all my paintings big and small out of ETSY and those still available are all not safely in my WEBSITE.  I've added a new section to my website as I want this series to have it's own location...so these summits will be held in the section aptly called "Mountain Summits".  BUT I DIGRESS...ETSY...now holds all things I do crafty!  Now there are a good little collection of my canvas baskets that were formerly only found at my shop in Conifer; Luna's Mandala...and, I've also included in my ETSY shop my fun new affirmation sticks.  What are they you might ask???  Well, they are dowels that have been wrapped in leather and hemp and other naturalish strings with a phrase or two added and maybe even a stone or two...they are meant to AFFIRM you as a person...UPLIFT you...make you remember how great you are!!  SO, the new ETSY shops are going live on April 5, but here is the link to my new preview page so you can see what it is going to look like!
