Harvey is a curious fellow that is patient and kind. He was last seen sitting, eyeing another fellow creature; hoping to say hello. Painted in oil on a 4"x4" panel with black sides he is ready for framing in a 4x4, or sitting as is on an easel or shelf! (Remember a 4x4" frame takes a little away from the sides) OR, for no extra charge I can mount him on a 5x5" black backer board so he can be framed with all sides showing. Frame is not included, but you can find frames like this at Michaels. "Harvey B" will be ready to ship on or about August 2, 2013, when he is dry!

This elk may not look huge in this little mini, but he was HUGE! I've been meaning to paint him for awhile...this is my first moment with him...who knows, I suspect he may show up in future paintings...I love the way he got so close, and the way the sun backlit his antlers and how calm he was with me! FUN DOINS! 

 

As always with my ETSY paintings...the sides are painted black...he can be framed as is...set on an easel, but I caution you on this one, his antlers are close to the edge...with a 4"x4" frame it takes 1/4" on the edges, so it may crowd him in there...so, the option is the free backer board I offer to mount these mini's on so they can be framed as the EXAMPLE below with all sides showing in a 5"x5" frame.

SO, it's been snowing a lot the past month...I've been trapped in my house more than I enjoy..but, as always I try to find inspiration as I can...so the following pics are me finding inspiration!!

 

yep, I was a little depressed when the storm started, so I put bunny (watch for this guy in ETSY in the near future) in front to buffer the snow on my heart! HA

yep, even though the sun came out...it's still bunches of snow as you will see, so the orchids buffered this morning!! :)

a challenge for you abstract artists out there...what kind of compositions can YOU find!! :)

yes, I know...it's pretty...good shadows...good composition...sigh...but it's COLD! :)

tell me this snow plop on top of one of our trees doesn't look like a walrus???

I call this "Burried"...:) I still think this would make an interesting painting...

I love the contrast of color on my pinecones!

 

AND, I've been dreaming and sketching...I'm excited to see the end results of these sketches...literally they were a dream!! FUN DOINS!

Getting back into the swing of things after my latest commission with this bright little oil painting of a parrot I photographed when in San Diego.

 

 

Here is a suggestion for framing...I LOVE these 5" x5" frames I get from Michaels....FUN DOINS!

 

PS...I forget to remind folks that, as always, each monitor is going to be a little different...they all show color a tiny bit differently...YES, there is pink in the background, however, it isn't as heavy as it looks on some monitors...this is just the world of technology...we do the best we can!!

I am a little behind on my ETSY offerings. If you haven't visited in awhile you might see a good number have sold! YAY, but that means I need to get busy! So, still thinking about our winter...I painted this puffed up little cardinal.  As always this little one is painted black on the sides, and can be mounted on a 5"x5" black backer board (included if you ask) for framing with all sides showing right to the edge!! Below you will see the framing suggestion... This little guy has so much paint I'm saying it will take 10 days or so to dry...that would be January 15 for approximate mailing date.  FUN DOINS!  

I'm working on a commission painting as well...so, having fun in the ole studio!!

I am missing my whole family these days! I recently got a couple of new photos of one part of my family...my little grandson Paxton...just had to share!!

Such a happy family!

This reindeer TALKS...can't you just SEE his little brain working on how to make it so!!
