Mountain Triptych Completed
I haven't decided on a name for this triptych of a Colorado mountain range yet, but I like the way it came out! The gold you see is gold leaf. The only painted area is the sky, the rest is a combination of papers. If you remember the inspiration for this came from the back of my bathroom door.....(sorry for the glare) I'm showing it here because I'm laughing at how it morphed from inspiration to completion. I STILL want to do a series of trees with the shapes you see...if you can see...but as this piece came together it spoke of a different life, so I gave it one!
I became intrigued at how there are so many layers to the view I have seen so often from my own windows I wanted to emphasize that fact...so perhaps my name should reflect that...hmmmm...giving it some thought!

This is GORGEOUS Saundra! I think this might be my favorite piece yet! I love how it reads so much bigger than the size it actually is. It is beautiful.
Yep, what Sheila said: GORGEOUS. I can't believe that the mountains and trees are paper?! It looks so dimensional. Exquisite choice of papers, but also the flow from one to the next and the wondeful warm ochres up front. LOVE, love, love this Colorado Range Triptych!! More please!
How beautiful! There should be more bathroom doors like the one that inspired you!
Wow Girls...thank you for the kudos! I loved doing it so much I feel more in me...I've got that one that first started my thought process in me yet! Vicki...you gave me an idea...I need to go check the other doors in the house! HA
The progression in the amount of sunlight hitting the snow caps is the best part of this truly sensational little tripych!
This is lovely, Saundra. Looks bigger than 6x18. I hope it doesn't snow too much to prevent you coming down on Thurs.
Wow! This is so beautiful, Saundra. I just love how the abstractness of torn or cut papers become so beautifully rebuilt in your collage scenes. I think the sky is stunning too and to know you have honed two skills to come up with one marvelous pieces just boggles my head. Of course, that doesn't take much to do these days. I wanna be like you when I grow up...
Saundra, this is my favorite piece of yours, ever! You really got something special here. I think this could be the beginning of many works based on the "view in the door!" Seriously. Don't stop now!
Thank you all for stopping in! I so appreciate your comments! This was an especially interesting piece for me; I learned some things and your comments helped me narrow down and solidify some ideas! I will be doing more like this. Have an idea about Mt. Evans from the top of my mountain! Truly it helps me in my growth, and helps the isolation we all feel from time time to have interaction!
Beautiful triptych, Saundra!! Love the foreground texture and the division of the three spatial plains!
Thanks Dean! It was a fun piece to do.
Very imaginative, Saundra, and well executed. The colours and textures are fabulous. You seem to have a natural gift. I'm excited to see what you do next.
Thanks Suzanne! I am excited to see what I do too!! Love your mountains from the other day!!
Saundra this is absolutely stunning. The colors are exquisite. It's your best collage to date. You have set the bar really high to surpass this one.
Jean
