"Up Front"
"Up Front" is what I call...JUST about finished. I had a few moments to work on it this morning, but had to leave to sub, so I want to look at it a bit before I officially call it finished. This is a 12x9" collage on canvas. The majority of this is painted in acrylic, but of course I applied paper for the aspen itself. I'm thinking when I come back to it later I will be looking at darks and highlights.
Subbing was funny today. I haven't done a high school before today so I'd forgotten how creative the kids are with excuses...today's was "The teacher always lets us text in class", and "I have to go to the bathroom to wash my hands because I'm allergic to the soap in the classroom". HA. I have found that if I laughingly tell them their stories and reasons are FUN for me, so I think the teacher would love to hear the same thing...so I ask them to write their name and the "story" down for her to read tomorrow. Funny how most of them decide working would be best. HA.
Hope you all had a great day of painting!

Makes me miss Colorado in the fall.
Jack Carter would be proud, sis!
A bit sad to see the little pond gone, but then again, I do love any type of foliage! Of course, then there is that beautiful aspen bark! More than makes up for it, truly. I think this is so beautiful Saundra! And nope...I really do not have any talent. But meh. I'll live! LOL
Turned out wonderful and love the name!
Brother Dear...thanks for stopping by...I'm tickled! And...WOW...ya'll would have to know this painter to know I am humbly complimented!!
Autumn Leaves...don't be sad...who knows where the pond will turn up again one day. My hubby is always wanting a frog painting...I can just see it now! And, you are wrong my new friend...you have quite a talent in building up a person! Thanks!
Karen, I decided to go with one of your suggestions..."Aspen Light"...it just spoke to me this time...I liked all the names you and others came up with...you may see THEM one of these days! Thanks!
